How many buildings of each kind should you have in your city?

That depends on a huge amount of variables such as: your game style, your troops tier, if you do monsters or not yet, if you have one account or more than one, the clan´s level, the stage of your research and even on the bonus the tile your city is placed on grants. You have to develop your city according to your current needs. By developing I am not referring to just levelling up your buildings, but to the mix (how many of each) of your buildings too. A starter city in a starter clan, where you won´t get enough resources from your clan, would need to have only one Barrack, 4 Foundries, 4 Stonecutter´s Houses, 4 Lumberjack´s Houses and a balanced amount of mansions and farms. A very advanced city in a very advanced clan will only need 1 Foundry, 1 Stonecutter´s House, 1 Lumberjack´s House, and 10 Barracks to boost the troop training speed. Then it will have just one Mansion and 23 Farms to hold as many troops as possible. In between, you need to morph your city´s layout from a starter one into a a very advanced one.
