Clash of Kingdoms (KVK)

Tactical Guide to Clash of Kingdoms (COK/KVK)

Hey everyone. Tomorrow 10/03/2024 before reset you must shield or anytime during the day. Those you can afford to shield pay your ingots and always keep your rss below protected levels.

Superiors of clans who understand this I suggest to do announcements to protect your members. Your members will be attacked 11th of March. You need to be aware that for the first 10 days there will be a frenzy of attacks. Not all will be justified.

Might doesn’t matter.Big players can attack small ones.

What they shouldn’t do however is attack clan buildings, attack event portals or attack memorial portals.

But still you have to expect it. You need to from now on daily check your clan forts and journals to see if they need to be repaired.

The clans should communicate and open one event portal at a time. No more than that to minimise the risk.

In the event of any attack which is legal you cannot do anything.

In the event of an attack against Clan Buildings or event portals, first try to resolve with the player

Any other attacks except the illegal attacks during open Kingdom, you can’t do anything.

During KvK what’s illegal ? event portals, and clan forts capitals ( clan marches are allowed during kvk)

During a general open kingdom what’s illegal ?

Clan marches, event portals, clan building attacks

There is no limitation to the amount of times you can get hit. There is no limitations or restriction to might.

if you receive an illegal attack first you try to resolve with player clan. Don’t engage in threats they can wage war. try reasonably to ask for compensation. if reason is not met with reason then pass it on to palace to forward to other kings.

During Clash of Kingdoms (COK), known as Kingdom vs Kingdom (KvK), K132 will face off
against multiple kingdoms in our ‘League’. We will originally be placed in the bronze league together with other Kingdoms.**
The goal for the Kingdom is to score as many points as possible. Points are generated when K132 players hold banners from other Kingdoms in their cities. Points are added to your score every 5 minutes, and depend on the level of the banners you hold. The higher the banner, the higher the scoring. (For example, a Level 45 Banner will give you 3000 points every 5 minutes, a Level 35 Banner 1400 points, and a Level 20 Banner 23 points). The level of the banner is equivalent to the level of the city capital.
*
Aside from gaining points for K132, you will also score some personal rewards for generating Points.
*
Therefore, it’s best for players to target cities that are more developed.

*
As K132 will be in league (Bronze League), all Kingdoms are relatively active at this level because they are newer. The goal is usually to play early (from Game Reset) when all banners are still available in other Kingdoms.
*
.Coordinate as a clan to open a “Portal to another Kingdom”. All clan members can then use that portal to raid clans from other Kingdoms. It is suggested that the player opening the portal either just focus on opening portals, or watch the portal closely so they can close it before getting attacked. Not everyone will have such Portals (they are different than the usual one) – so it’s important to discuss options clan-wide, who is getting them and who is opening each time.
*
Remember that red banners are from other Kingdoms, while blue banners are from our Kingdom. If you attack a player in another Kingdom with a lot of blue banners, those banners will NOT go to you – they will be returned to the players in our Kingdom.

**
IMPORTANT:This is the ideal time to play if you are not the strongest player, or part of a very strong clan.
**
Once the portal is open, send your various captains (and Hero) to various enemy cities at once – with minimal troops. Many players will have sent their armies to the Fort – meaning they are leaving cities empty with a banner for you to steal. This way, it is possible for a very small player to even collect a Level 40+ Banner – if the city is empty.
**
If you run into an enemy army, that is when you may decide to scout and consider attacking with a full army. If you send a full army to every attack, before scouting, there is a chance for substantial losses and costly revivals.
**
Avoid hitting Alricks early game. That 7 minute march there and 7 minute march back will set you back significantly, if you’re playing an early game and aiming to collect one banner at a time – as quickly as possible.

*
There may still be banners around, but they will be spread out and somewhat random. Some banners may have been returned when a player successfully took banners back for their Kingdom.
*
You will have to scout around for banners. There are a few options here: 1) Target lower level clans that have yet to be cleared 2) Look around other Kingdoms for possible “hiding” players. These are players that have a lot of banners and have teleported to a random part of their Kingdom. You can also check the Leaderboard for the current top 100 – and look out for those names.
*
It is sometimes still worth checking the top tier clans. Their banners may have returned. One Level 40 Banner is worth ten Level 27 Banners.

*
The game now is primarily for the very strong players.
**
In other Kingdoms, the majority of the good banners will be located in Bunker Cities (where a strong clan asks a lot of their players to send reinforcements to one city, and that city holds a lot of banners), which will be virtually impenetrable for K132 players. A clan march might just be able to take the banners but still it’s best not to do it.
*

Some good banners may still be with “hiding” players. But these “hiding” players are still likely to have G7/G8, meaning that only strong players will manage to take their banners. Other K132 players can help look for these cities on the map.

**
PLAYING WHEN SMALL: If you are a small player, there is still a chance to do very well in KvK. Play early, grab some banners, and consider “hiding”.
**
PLAYING HIDE: This means teleporting when you see another Kingdom launching an attack on you. It is best to play this with an Alrick – otherwise, they can take your banners before you have a chance to react. (Even with an Alrick, they can with the 75% speed up. But those are very expensive). You basically teleport to somewhere else on the Kingdom map (somewhere close to some players, but ideally not right next to a big clan) where you hope they cannot find you for a while. If you start on clan territory, you can also be asked to be “kicked” off your clan territory for 4 million silver by a Superior if you don’t have a lot of teleports.(However, you will end up in the “Graveyard”, which can be searched easily).A great way if you are playing hide with Alrich hero, is to have great offline communication with your t

*
PLAYING SEEK: This is the opposite and this is K132 finding the hiding players of other Kingdoms! Once a player teleports, they cannot do so for another 20 minutes or so. This is the window of time where we need to, as a Kingdom, try and find this player in the other Kingdom. Help out if you can where you see a request like this in Kingdom chat or clan chat or any dedicated KVK chat created. Also playing seek means a part of the team who shields can lookout for players who still have banners and inform attackers from our Kingdom or your clan etc.
*
ATTACK PORTALS: You may even win some banners by attacking enemy kingdom portals in K132 and other Kingdoms. Some players open their own portals and collect banners. Open your portal next to theirs and attack ASAP – It’s best to catch them when their army is out collecting banners ( attacking someone), therefore you get their banner. And you collect ALL their banners from their home! Now again it’s important to know

**
MASTER THE PORTALS SYSTEM: Once an army is marching toward your portal to return home, you can close the portal (and they still return home). Remember this timing element. For example, you can open a portal to attack an Alrick player and then close the portal immediately. Use your speed ups. In 7 &½ minutes, when your army reaches the Alrick player, you open another portal. Once your army has turned around facing your new portal, you can close it again. Knowing this tactic reduces the chance of counterattacks on your portals when attacking Alricks.
**
CAPTAINS: Make sure to use three captains that maximize your strength and health during attacks, such as Cleopatra, Aydae, Beowulf, Amanitore etc. You may wish to keep equipment off until you actually need to make a proper attack (where there are enemy attacks) – depending if you can add/remove quickly.

Important things for KVK that are true for open kingdom as well 1:
1. Zero out your capital ingots EVERYTIME YOU LOGIN. important at all times when the kingdom is open.
2. Keep low rss levels below protected thresholds.check capital for resources statistics. need to make it a daily habit after opening march 11th to not leave any resources unprotected if you don’t plan on immediate spending on construction. If you got them from attacking someone and don’t plan using them either donate to clan building or lose
20 and then 20 percent tax and store with a teammate who shields.

3.If you don’t want to participate either shield or send troops to the forts or mining( mining carries more risk some people don’t follow roe).if you send your troops to the fort. your clan has 3 forts. send them separately into one, two or three forts.so if you need to use anyone for anything you don’t unnecessarily get the whole army out and lose it from an attack. Remember when you lose in defense you can only revive 75%.Try to master this.
4.Portal spotters, attackers,seekers—- each clan should be divided into three groups. You can change these groups as you please but these types of people should exist.
5.attackers - reinforced usually player(s) from a clan that are the people responsible to attack for banners.

6.portal spotters: people responsible to spot enemy portals. remember other kingdom portals have a different color than our red. It's deeper.
7. Best Hero and “Mandatory for Attackers” during KVK is Alrich. You need the agility he provides when it’s time to be attacked to either teleport around and avoid attack, or have time to receive more reinforcements.
8. Start investigation of possible targets for attackers or spotters or seekers from the day before, hours before. Check if some cities lvl 40-45 are being abandoned by troops and mark them. These cities are collected first by most.
9. Find individual Players from the KVK list without Alrich and search for them for the attackers to attack them and get the banners obviously if they are manageable to attack and not huge players from big clans which are possible fortresses.

10. Always train as many troops as you can carry. No more so you can easily leave your city if you are getting attacked at record time. Check leadership of all combined captains and Hero. Then check guardsmen and mercs and flying guards leadership. Know your numbers.

ROLES:

Battle Master: This is the player who is responsible for choosing the target clan, selecting portal locations, making tactical decisions, and directing the general attack. It is this individual's responsibility to know and understand each other's role and who is in that role in a given attack to properly direct the battle. The Battle Master coordinates timing and tells the PortalMaster when to open the portals.

PortalMaster: This is a player who has Kingdom Portals and ideally an Alrick. This position can either be played bunkered or empty. For bunkered we prepare well in advance of planned attacks, and non-attacking clan mates (those who bubble should do this) send troops to reinforce this individual. This individual then opens the portals as directed by the Battle Master. If they have enough reinforcements and they wish they may attack as well, especially to appear as bait, but they may also stay in the city to help defend. If a Bunker is not available or desired, the PortalMaster should keep a completely empty city with no resources above warehouse limits and no extra troops lying around.

Banner Seekers: this is a player who looks at the selected clan or area of interest shortly before the attack and finds cities with lots of banners in them. You can find this information by clicking on the city and selecting the Banners button. Both number of banners and banner level are relevant to look for. Banner Seekers can post links to targets with banners in them in whatever chat is being used to coordinate the attack to save time for Banner Keepers to simply go to the cities posted and attack. For best results having multiple Banner Seekers, 5+ helps keep everything rolling and provides more opportunities for lots of lower might or even bubbled members to be involved. NOTE BLUE are banners from our kingdom RED are banners from every other kingdom including the one you are hitting - take back high BLUE counts also to stop point gains to said kingdom holding them.

Banner Keepers: very strong player in your clan. These individuals are the ones primarily responsible for obtaining as many banners as possible and then storing them for safekeeping; more on that part later. Banner Keepers should have lots of speedups, good armies, and a willingness to attack many times and to be prepared to engage in evasive defence once the banners are back at home. Ideally these players should have extra city teleporters available.

Portal Popper: This is ideally another strong player in the clan who does not attack but carefully watches the clan portals placed for attack. Enemy clans will open a portal directly next to our Kingdom Portals and then send an attack to our portals. The Portal Popper is responsible for watching for these and attempting to close them first if possible, and if not alerting the PortalMaster to close them. If not enough strong players exist to have a Portal Popper, this role should become Portal Watcher if the PortalMaster needs additional assistance watching the portals and alerting when they should be closed. The PortalMaster should listen and respond immediately to the warnings and close it down instantly. Smaller might players can and should also call bluff on enemy portals, especially attacking portals in our own kingdom. Sometimes they won't shut them down but many times, if you open a portal near them in defence or march out of a portal on offence, they will shut them down for fear of being hit. Have players assigned to send a small force to attack regardless of their own might level.
Attackers: These are the rest of the members who wish to fight but do not have an otherwise assigned role. All are welcome.

The more attackers we have the more chaos for the enemy, and the more cities they will have to choose from for banners in retaliation. The more in your clan willing to participate the better.

Attack Spotter: This position is responsible for watching Banner Keepers' cities during outgoing raids to inform them in case attacks come in while they are busy attacking. Attack Spotters should quickly call out if a hit us coming on a Banner Keeper's city and the Keeper should be alert to watch for this info coming in.

Banker: This is a bubble player who wishes to stay bubbled. They do not have to be an active participant during the raid time. Upon attacking, retaliation attacks typically occur very quickly. Those who attack should either spend the resources taken immediately after the fighting is over or send in caravans to the bank to be retrieved later, if sending to clan buildings is not desired. All that is lost this way is the tax, instead of losing millions of resources when retaliation comes.

STRATEGIES

  1. CoK is different from CoT. CoT depends on killing enemy soldiers. CoK depends on obtaining banners from enemies which are held in their cities.
There is therefore little reason to attack mines, forts, etc. for the purpose of winning CoK. Cities are selected based on the banners they currently hold, which can be seen by clicking on the city in question and then selecting the Banners button. Assign roles ahead of time and encourage your team to know what their roles are.
  1. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Banners held in your city generate CoK points every 5 minutes you hold them. More points for higher banners. It is therefore critical to start on CoK as early as possible and hold banners for as long as possible.
Holding them at the moment the event ends is not relatively that important, rather the time you hold enemy banners is what gives you points. Start early, take lots of banners, employ defensive measures, and when you lose them go find more.
  1. Watch out for players with the hero Alrick, the bearded strong looking hero with his sword point-down in front of him.
Marches to those cities will always take 4 hours without speedups, 7.5 minutes with all 5 50% march speedups. These can still be attacked very quickly if you have 66% or 75% speedups if you desire to use them.
  1. Use portals strategically. Look for large groupings of enemy cities in their territory.
Place one portal near one such grouping, towards one side of their clan territory, as close to their group as you can get it. For best results use two portals. Pick one spot on one side of a territory and another on another side, near large groupings of cities if possible. This info is especially important for the Battle Master.
  1. Remember it is vital to coordinate these attacks in terms of timing! Use your designated chats and engage in a countdown, so that players are placing portals (no more than 3, 2 is really enough) and attacking at the same time.
The ideal is to have the portals placed within seconds of each other and to have 5-20 players ready to attack immediately upon opening. This info is especially important for the Battle and Portal Masters.
  1. Very important but nuanced element of the game: attacks and marches go to the TILE, not whatever is on it (city, portal, resource point, monster, etc.).
Of particular importance for raids of this nature is this: once the last attack has been sent (coordinate everyone!) the player who owns the portal placed to attack can close it as soon as the last army is on the way BACK; In other words, you do not have to wait for the army to actually get to the portal, they merely need to be on the way BACK to the portal and then it can be closed, the army will go through the portal as though it were still open. This info is especially important for the PortalMaster and the Banner Keepers.
  1. Coordinate with as many players and clans as possible and as fits the enemy selected. Multiple clans in our Kingdom can employ these strategies together to great success to fight large clans.
  2. Remember: absolutely NO clan buildings and ESPECIALLY no clan capitals are to be attacked!
  3. Banner Keepers: IMPORTANT!!! Upon the end of the raiding when you have banners in your city, it is now our job to reinforce you and yours to take active steps in protecting those banners.
When retaliation attacks occur, the first time a tracer is on your city, use the info from 5 above and teleport your city somewhere else INSIDE clan territory (but NOT right next to where you were, pick somewhere on the other side of clan territory). (NOTE: You cannot teleport again for 15 minutes. Plan carefully) Then, if necessary, if other attacks come the leader or superiors in the clan can use silver to boot you out of clan territory (NOT out of the clan!!!!) to keep the banners safe.

(Leaders: You do this in the territory section of the clan capitol, do NOT go to the membership list. If you kick them out of the clan they cannot return for two weeks. Only boot them from territory in the clan capitol. This costs 4M silver, prepare in advance).
  1. For additional safe keeping, just before or just after raiding and obtaining banners, instead of waiting til retaliation attacks occur you can teleport outside clan territory or have a leader or superior boot you from clan territory.
If you prefer to stay in clan territory while online you can watch carefully and still jump outside clan territory somewhere far away when attacks occur, but if you are going offline and hold lots of banners it is encouraged to either teleport out or be booted out. For best results when teleporting, look at your kingdom map ahead of time and pin a few locations away from your clan area (and not next to the edge of our Kingdom map) to teleport to, this will make it quicker to get out of territory when attacks are coming.
  1. Playing on a computer is helpful for Clash of Kingdoms as the larger screen allows you to see more going on at the same time. Obviously not required, apply as needed to your situation.
